Sprucing up the Neighborhood?

Among the places I visited at the earlier this week  includes  an area that is used for training exercises. Old shipping containers are used to create urban landscapes and in one instance, a ship. I found a row of these off  to one side near the rifle range–I was particularly taken with the fact that someone tried to “decorate” the front of one container with an awning? a pediment?

  1. Interesting look. Containers were used extensively in Christchurch, New Zealand after the 2011 earthquake and after demolishing the badly damaged cathedral, a temporary one out of cardboard has been constructed 🙂

    • Cardboard! Fascinating-I recently spoke with someone who is planning to build an apartment complex out of recycled storage containers. I think there is a world of possibilities with these things-and a good use of repurposing as well-Thank you for looking Ruby!
