Window Sill

I was really drawn to this small piece of statuary–there is certainly nothing perfect about it and in its own way it is a bit melancholy. She is missing her head; her wings have broken off and the paint is peeling. The light, shadow and cobwebs seemed to emphasize the “forgotten” nature of this small piece.

  1. Reminds me a bit of the Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde! Beauty unappreciated. Most definitely melancholy! Beautiful shot. I like how the cobwebs stretch from her outstretched palm. Even though she is headless, she is providing support with what has left to offer.
