A Home by the Water
I am out in the field this week and so will be posting some older images from the archives while I take new ones-
This is the Whalehead Club, a private hunting lodge built in Corolla, NC by a wealthy Northern industrialist and his wife who enjoyed waterfowl hunting (more on that in a later post). Construction began in 1922 and was completed in 1925. The house is five stories high and approximately 21,000 square feet. It is also an exceptional illustration of the Art Nouveau architectural style. The photograph was taken approaching the house by boat.
