Silent Meditation
Visiting where I grew up this week and before heading out to return home, I went into my father’s office-it is just as he left it; the desk is a little cleaner, but everything else is in place. It has been almost two years since he died and no one feels a need at this point to disturb anything in the room. So I just sat for awhile at his desk and then took this picture of a few of the things that meant most to him; his medical books, his first microscope, a stein from medical school and a plastic model of a heart, which made endless rounds among my siblings and myself for school show-and-tell days.
