are all that make up this simple still life study-
Factoid for the day: During the 1600s, a shift occurred in still life painting with the introduction of the “monumental still life”, that is large paintings that included still-life material with figures, especially animals. Some of the more famous works included still life studies of butcher stalls, such as Pieter Aertsen’s Butcher’s Stall with the Flight into Egypt (1551) and Annibale Carracci’s, Butcher’s Shop, completed in 1583.
