9/365 Candlelight

I have been tethered to my desk (or it sure feels like it) on a project so it’s been kind of challenging to come up with things literally close in the room. Today’s image was the result of experimenting with candlelight and the app Slow Shutter-

For today: Candlelight

  1. Meg, I have Slow Shutter (after heaving read about it), and would be appreciative of any hints. I need to dive into it. Your image has an ethereal sensibility. Best wishes for the days ahead in the New Year.

    • Thank you Sally! My best suggestion would be simply to run it through its different settings. That is what I did for this picture. I started with a 2 second exposure (more than that, I would need to use a tripod I think) and tried using both Motion blur and Light Trail-in each case, then I just slowly panned across the table. I ended using the Motion blur because the Light Trail image was just too fragmented. It might have worked better with less light, I do not know. The tree image that was put up earlier in the week was taken with Slow Shutter too-2 second exposure with Low Light capture mode-and again I panned up and I panned down several times until I got something I liked. The panning is what I think can make for an interesting image-I will be interested to see what you do-
