199/366 See Me

I noticed today, a lighter pink Rose of Sharon growing in the backyard.  This is a newer tree that sprouted from a volunteer. The quote from O’Keefe, then, seemed particularly appropriate-

“Nobody sees a flower – really – it is so small it takes time – we haven’t time – and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time.”

    • Thank you Sally-at first I was not real happy with it as the bloom was not completely open, but it forced me to really take another look at what the bloom had to offer at that moment. And O’Keefe is a hero-the quote seemed particularly apt given this week so far-Thanks so much for visiting!

    • Thank you Johanna! I will say that doing these kinds of still life studies not only get me looking in the backyard on a regular basis, but to take time to see as O’Keefe suggests. A very wise woman, that. Paws and pets to the Princess Charley!
