  1. Very different here at home, Meg. I often forget to take my keys out of the car at night and certainly mean to leave them in the car if I’m out around the bush at home during the day. If something happens to me while I’m away from the car maybe people will realise I’m close by but injured if the keys are still there. Sort of funny premise I know but one that we all operate by out here. Just reinforces how very different city life is 🙂

    • It sure does Lee! I have always been struck by how rural areas just operate on a different level than urban spaces. When I first started doing surveys in rural areas, I always went to the back door (because only strangers used the front door) and I was always amazed at how people generally just left stuff unlocked. It is changing now in many areas as more people from cities come, but I admit I miss that. People took care of each other-

  2. I don’t know which is scarier — having to remind people to do those things, or that hornets nest. What’s that all about? Like what you’re doing with the Polaroid effects

    • Thanks Bill! Ah yes, the hornet’s nest. Here is a direct quote: “In 1781, British General Lord Cornwallis and his troops were so harassed by the local patriots that they labeled the area “a hornet’s nest of rebellion.” The city police department adopted the symbol as a sign of patriotism, though I suspect some people think it is to show support for the basketball team–at any rate, it is one of the stranger oddities found here-and there are many-
