241/366 I hide myself within my flower

A fading Gerbera daisy for today-

I hide myself within my flower,
That wearing on your breast,
You, unsuspecting, wear me too —
And angels know the rest.

I hide myself within my flower,
That fading from your Vase,
You, unsuspecting, feel for me —
Almost a loneliness.

–#904, I hide myself within my flower

Image taken with Polamatic camera app and processed with SFX70 presets

For today: I hide myself within my flower

I hide myself within my flower

I hide myself within my flower

  1. This one always makes me feel melancholy although I don’t believe that was what Emily was really going for. I’ve heard several explanations but I really don’t agree with most of them, yet I don’t have a good one of my own. other than what I feel is unacknowledged passion. You certainly nailed the “fading from your vase” line Meg. Good Work! ~~dru~~

    • I know what you mean dru-one of the things I love about Dickinson is how her words fit in even more it seems with modern life–that and she leaves the reader open to interpret what they want (and might need) from her poems-Thanks so much for visiting!
