277/366 Eternal Dream

A Day of the Dead sculpture in memory of pets big and small-

The ghost dog trots back into the woods
The woods where he used to play
Lies down on a blanket of soft autumn leaves
And goes back to his eternal dream.

  1. I like this homage to “El día de los Muertos,” featuring pets. The way the animals are painted reminds me of the way people paint their faces in Mexico to celebrate, “The Day of the Dead.”

    • Yes-I have seen some other animal art depicted in the Day of the Dead styliings-some of it is really, really amazing. I have a friend that puts out a table every Halloween with pictures of pets and family and food and drink also–friends can bring theirs to place on the table in honor of their relatives. think it is a great way to commemorate memory-
