  1. Reblogged this on saywhatumean2say and commented:
    look…..the spangles
that sleep all the year in a dark box
dreaming of being taken out and allowed to shine,
the balls the chains red and gold the fluffy HEADS!

Either you my dear Meg or i am just a little too macabre, what is that rodent head hanging down?

Didn’t read all the poem, maybe it is cummings that is rather too macabre.

    • Thanks Susan-this is definitely a colored light household as opposed to the white lights which dominate our street. And my favorite moments come at the end of the day, when everyone is sacked out and I can just look at the tree and enjoy the quiet 😉 It is a cozy and comforting time-

    • Thank you Johanna! Every year, certain ornaments are positioned together to create these little stories as it were. On another part of the tree, I have a small grouping of foxhounds chasing a star on another part of the tree. It gives me a chuckle every time I look-I love, love, love your Mid-Century Modern Christmas decor. You have some wonderful treasures!!
